Brett joined the Arbutus Financial team in February of 2024 as he finished completing his Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a Major in Finance at Vancouver Island University. With his schooling now completed, he plans to pursue his goal of becoming a Certified Financial Planner.
After working in the trades for many years, Brett found an interest in finance after opening his own investing account and researching the industry. After being laid off during COVID in 2020, he decided to apply to VIU for their BBA program to pursue his newfound passion and make better use of his time at home. He now hopes to help others achieve their financial goals using the knowledge he gained from his schooling.
Brett was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. He moved out to Nanaimo in 2018 with his Fiancée Lisa and their cat Grayson. Their love of hiking and the outdoors enticed them to make Vancouver Island their new home. In his spare time, he enjoys going to the gym, hiking, camping, and is an avid collector of retro games and other nostalgic items from his childhood.
