Retired Advisor, Special Senior Consultant with Arbutus Financial Services Ltd.
Don has retired from his client files effective April 1, 2019. He is currently on retainer with Arbutus Financial to assist in special project work and to offer his perspective and expertise to the firm. We are thrilled and fortunate to continue our association with Don as he enters his “retirement”.
Don spent thirty-six years with a major Canadian bank occupying a number of management positions in Alberta until taking on the role of Financial Advisor in 2008. He worked with a private financial planning firm in the Edmonton area assisting clients in managing their financial affairs. His move to Arbutus Financial in October of 2011 represented a new challenge and a welcome change in lifestyle.
Don obtained his CFP (Certified Financial Planner) designation in 1991 and remained a member in good standing until his retirement in April 2019. He has always been active in the communities he has lived in and has sat on several boards including Chair of the Volunteer Centre of Edmonton. Since relocating, he has become involved in the Nanaimo area. He is currently a member of the Pacific Coast Mustang Association and recently completed his role as president with both Big Brothers and Big Sisters and the Rotary Club of Lantzville.
He enjoys reading and is looking forward to spending lots of enjoyable time with his two granddaughters.
Both his adult children are gainfully employed and love life on the island.
